Welcome to the capacity building program, aiming to enhance competencies in food / feed laboratory testing =D
This program is carried out as part of TRASE (Trade in Africa Safely and Efficiently) implemented by Venture 37 – Landolakes, in countries of the East Africa’s Economic Community (EAC).
This program is implemented by the Global Food Regulatory Science Society (GFoRSS), a non-for-profit organization, hosted by the Food Risk Analysis and Regulatory Excellence Platform (PARERA) jointly operated by the Department of Food Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences and the Institute of Nutrition and Functional Foods (INAF)
The
Program you are about to start is delivered over a period of 4 months and includes
the on-line training developed by the International Food Safety Training
Laboratory (IFSTL) and the Food Laboratory Platform established by PARERA.
The program will cover various aspects of food regulatory testing:

- sample preparation procedures used in the determination of specific food contaminants and in multi-residue methods;
- the principles and parameters of rapid analytical methods used for screening and early detection of food contaminants'
- practice of rapid analysis and interpretation of results for identification, confirmation and/or quantitation of different food contaminants;
- the potential limitations of rapid methods;
- the principles and important parameters of rapid analytical methods with a focus on LFD;
- the potential limitations of LFD techniques;
- the principles of analytical methods used for the confirmation of specific food contaminant presence;
- the principles of analytical methods used for the confirmation of pesticides and other contaminants’ presence;
- troubleshooting;
- analysis and interpretation of results for identification, confirmation and quantitation of specific food contaminants.
